“Deco-Professionals” on Monday on Bavarian Television

Four boys from Waging make creative things out of wood and can talk about themselves on “We in Bavaria”.

Waging by the lake. Four young boys from Waging call themselves “decoration professionals” who make beautiful things out of wood in their free time – especially, of course, Advent jewelry at this time of year. Although the company, which the four gave the English name “Woods”, has only been in existence for just under a year, their range is already represented at seven Christmas markets this year and, above all, they will appear on Bavarian television next Monday - in the program “We in Bavaria” from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Moritz Seehuber is one of them. During a visit to the stimulating atmosphere of their workshop in Hofbauer near Tettelham, the 20-year-old says that he simply sent an email to the BR. For a long time there was no response, but then suddenly someone called. And after some negotiations, the time has come: On Monday you will be a live guest on the BR show “We in Bavaria” and – it looks like – you can report on your creative work in two blocks of around ten minutes each.

Here four people who have known each other almost as babies have come together in a new area. All four are at home in Waging, went to school here and are simply “best friends”. And so they came together to work together about a year ago. The four are Moritz Seehuber (20), tourism and leisure clerk at Strandcamping Waging, Xaver Schwarz (20), industrial mechanic at BSH, Benedikt Kaindl (19), industrial mechanic at Ecolab, and Andreas Seehuber (20), bank clerk. The latter is, by profession, the financial manager of the young company, which was founded on January 1st of this year.

The two mechanics, who just completed their final theoretical exam a few days ago, are already “pre-stressed” when it comes to their craftsmanship, and Moritz and Andreas Seehuber have done it again and again, not least in the workshop of their grandfather Andreas Seehuber Sr., a former CSU member of the state parliament watched and practiced myself. And so the idea came about to set up our own production line, so to speak. Because, as Moritz says, they always watched with fascination as Grandpa made his creative wooden things, which he then always gave away. Moritz's father is also a carpenter: He also always gave useful tips and suggestions for improvement. So at some point they really got into it themselves - and their success proved them right.
They themselves describe this in their flyer as follows: “In our wide range you will find a wide variety of hand-made tea light holders, table and door decorations as well as extraordinary unique pieces made from different types of wood.” And as is common practice today, a website is also created for such purposes . This is called www.holzdeko-woods.de and offers an informative cross-section of many beautiful things, rustically made from lively woods: tea light holders made from thick round wood, from cut branches as if grown, stars, Christmas trees or animal figures, and much more.

Basically, each of the four does everything. Everyone brings in suggestions, everyone works on the machines, so there is a wealth of ideas - and anyone who looks at the stockpiles will notice that there is creativity and love for the matter behind it. There are always donations of wood in the area, be it from the extended Seehuber family or from other friends and acquaintances, where particularly beautiful woods - beech, apple, ash, birch and the like - are saved and made available to the “decoration professionals”. become. Seehuber's workshop formed the basis, and the four of them have since used their money to buy additional small but high-quality machines: such as a band saw or a grinding machine.

It's amazing how they managed to be represented at so many markets in their first Advent season. Bergen, Raitenhaslach and Klosterseeon are already behind them, they are coming to Seeon on the weekend, 15th/16th. December, also a second time. On the same weekend they also sell their creations at the Advent market in Waging - after all, you have to be represented at home, including at the Mühlberg Forest Christmas next Sunday. This weekend they will be in Mühldorf and also in Bad Endorf. So it's really big fight day. There are still enough supplies, but, as Moritz Seehuber says, they were almost overwhelmed by the quantities sold. When asked how difficult it was to get accepted into the renowned Christmas markets, Moritz says: “It's difficult to get decent places at the beginning. You have to be careful there. After all, you also pay a lot in stand fees.” But apparently they managed it quite well. And for the next season, the target is markets like in Halsbach or on Fraueninsel.

Christmas is not nearly over yet, but the “decoration professionals” are already thinking about summer. They also want to sell their decorations in the warmer seasons. However, the range is still rather small. But new creations are already being thought out. Products made from driftwood are a possible alternative. And nesting boxes for birds are also already in the program.
